Starting a natural first-aid kit doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. You don’t need to overhaul everything at once or buy 27 new products tomorrow. The easiest way to get started is to pick just a few supportive swaps you feel confident about, and before you know it, your diaper bag, purse, or medicine cabinet will naturally shift into a clean, low-tox setup.
These are the handful of items I personally keep on hand at all times, both at home and on the go. They cover the most common “mom moments,” from bumps and scrapes to sudden belly aches or sniffles. Let’s keep it simple.
I also want to add, I have used ALL of these products clinically for the same various reasons you’ll read below! If you have ANY questions on how you could use any of these for your child, don’t ever hesitate to reach out or leave a comment!

This is one of my go-tos when something is coming on, and I want to quickly and naturally support the body. It’s easy to dose, easy to keep in the bag, and one of the first things I reach for when kiddos aren’t acting like themselves.
Uses:
headaches, bellyaches, general feelings of being unwell.
Quickly applied, mess-free, and so convenient. I keep a few rollers ready to go, typically one for skin irritations, one for sniffles, and one for tummy support. Take the guesswork out of blending your own and make on-the-spot care super simple.
Uses:
Owie (orange): minor skin irritations or rashes
Sniffleease (blue): mild congestion, allergies
Tummygize (green): nausea, vomitting, irregular pooping, all things belly (AND motion! This one is a life saver for car sickness)
I reach for this one literally on the daily. It’s great for everyday scrapes, cuts, irritated skin, and all of those “we were outside for five minutes and someone got hurt” moments. It’s one of the cleanest swaps for a traditional all-purpose wound spray. (That means you too my tubie kids/families!!)
Uses:
Any and all things skin and wounds. (Medically: think post-surgically, tube sites, stomas, etc) OK if it enters mucus membranes, eyes/nose/mouth. I even use it on my face as a cleanser everyday too! (mama might as well get some type of benefit right?!).
Another staple for skin. I use this constantly for dry patches, bumps, minor irritations, and pretty much anything that needs a little soothing. It’s gentle, simple, and so effective.
Uses:
Any and all things skin. I would avoid areas like around the eyes and mouth. Peri area (diaper area) ok just keeping it on outer skin only.
Why starting small works
If you’re new to natural first-aid, this list is exactly where I’d start. Choose just one or two things to swap out. Use them, get comfortable, and build from there. Before long, you’ll look at your bag or medicine cabinet and realize you’ve fully switched things over without the overwhelm! If you’re someone who wants or is looking for more to add, my entire “natural on-the-go care bag” with everything I keep on hand can be found HERE (almost 😉). It’s the full picture of what I use for my own family day-to-day. If that isn’t you yet, these staples will carry you pretty far!
Much love,
